Portlet is small piece of page - simple text, picture, some fancy slider, popup gallery, youtube video... Once in place, portlet can be edited through a guided interface that produces content consistent with the website's design.
Using FreePositioning type of page, user can simply drag and drop portlets over the screen, anywhere within the frames of the page.
Adding new portlet is carried out in a very easy way - by dragging it from the main toolbar to the framed area of the page.
Page made of rows and columns
Structured type enables arrangement of page in layout with columns and rows. There are two types of elements that can be implemented on the page: Portlet and Wrapper.
Structured portlets are quite similar to portlets used in FreePositioning pages, with the difference that here they are placed in columns of wrappers.
Wrapper can be compared to a row in a table, and it contains one, two or three columns. There is a possibility of nesting wrappers, creating rows to build unlimited number of columns.
Easy customize for types of devices
Are you having a problem to handle the same pages on different devices?
DudeCMS has been developed with the idea to provide support easy administration of the same pages for different devices. You can you easily create pages that will be shown differently on different devices.
In "Structured Responsive" type the content is the same on PCs and on a mobile devices, and the manner in which page appear depends on the size of the screen from which is being accessed the site.
In "Free Positioning" and "Structured Static" types, page for mobile devices is separately edited, and mode in which the page is displayed determines the CMS, while it alone identifies whether the visitor was accessed the site from a computer or from a mobile device.
Share your work with others
Use of DudeCMS application doesn't have to be limited to a single user. It is possible to reorganize system users, enter unlimited numbers of them, and give them certain rights, depending on what their role is in the administration. Application access is not available, until the identification of users is made on the login page.
Create different page for different language
- Each page of the site has option to be entered in several languages. When creating a page it is elected the language for the administration. When choosing a language for which the selected page already has an instance the application will switch you to the administration of page for that language.
- It is not required entering data of page in all languages.
- Administration of languages is made in specially designated part of the applications.

There are many content management systems over the Internet, and most of them are built using different open source technologies.
Our idea is to build solution where the core will be developed in the main project, and all of the features as separated modules, which can be injected in the main solution. Reason for this is easy extending of the application with new features and portlets.
Our team has years of experience building different small and large enterprise solutions using .NET framework. So we decided to proceed with our best coding practice and develop the CMS with .NET as server technology and jQuery as front-end framework.
For database technology natural choice is SQL server database, which is designed in a very simple and intuitive way, so adding of new features to CMS will not affect its architecture.
